RIGHT-ANGLE DRIVE SELECTION

Start with the shaft layout.
Then compare the reduction.

A bevel direction changer, a helical-bevel gearmotor and a hypoid reducer can all enter a right-angle-drive shortlist. They answer different machine requirements. Establish the power path before comparing a ratio or a catalogue maximum.

Three routes through the Chinese supplier catalogue

The useful breadth in the sources below is the choice of shaft arrangements, industrial reduction stages and replacement interfaces. These are specific supplier offerings, rather than a claim that every Chinese manufacturer has the same capability or precision grade.

01 / DIRECTION & DISTRIBUTION

Which shaft is the input?

BONENG manufacturer profile →

BONENG's T spiral-bevel family offers foot mounting, solid output shafts and arrangements with one input and one, two or three outputs, as well as two inputs and one output. Its official page distinguishes reduction from speed increase by the shaft used as the input when the ratio differs from 1:1. [1]

For a machine distributing motion between several shafts, send a sketch naming each input/output, the viewing direction for rotation arrows and the load on each branch. Ask the supplier to confirm the complete arrangement and whether the stated rating applies to the proposed power path.

02 / INDUSTRIAL REDUCTION

How much reduction belongs in the drive?

TONGLI manufacturer profile →

TONGLI TK is an industrial right-angle spiral-bevel reducer. Its official product page lists TK38–TK188 frames, ratios of 5.36–197.37, output speeds of 7.5–280 rpm, input power of 0.18–200 kW and a series maximum output torque of 50,000 Nm. These are separate family limits; they do not describe one orderable gearbox. [2]

For a conveyor or process drive, request the selected frame and ratio at your actual input speed, continuous and starting loads, running hours and mounting position. Include belt/chain forces and their distance from the output support. Ask for mechanical capacity and a thermal-duty assessment for the complete installation.

03 / REPLACEMENT INTERFACES

Does the proposed replacement really fit?

JIAOXING manufacturer profile →

JIAOXING JHG is explicitly described as helical-hypoid, with a hypoid first stage. The official page lists sizes 50, 63 and 75, two-stage ratios of 7.5–60 and three-stage ratios of 80–300. Keep this adjacent right-angle route distinct from the T and TK designs. [3]

The manufacturer describes compatibility with JMRV mounting dimensions and accessories. Treat that as a starting point for a drawing comparison: check shaft/bore diameter, fits, flange pilot, bolt pattern, shaft height and torque reaction. A supplier's compatibility statement does not replace approval of your selected assembly.

Make the quotation comparable, line by line

Do not use a broad ratio envelope as a list of available ratios. Do not combine the highest torque, power and speed on a family page. For these examples, the next useful document is a frame-specific selection sheet.

What to request for the exact model, ratio and installation
Selection itemEvidence to ask forWhat it resolves
Ratio & speedAvailable ratio, actual motor/input speed and resulting output speed; identify the driving shaft.Direction-changing and multi-stage reduction quotations become distinguishable.
Torque & dutyContinuous, starting and overload requirements; selected rating and service-factor assumptions for the stated cycle.A family maximum is not mistaken for a continuous-duty rating.
BacklashValue, unit, measurement load, shaft/reference location and test method for the selected assembly. The three product pages do not establish a common, comparable backlash grade; no category-wide precision number is assumed here.
Mounting & loadsDimensioned input/output drawing, orientation, permissible radial/axial loads and their application points.A similar outline is checked against the machine's actual interfaces and load path.
Heat & lubricationOperating hours, ambient temperature, lubricant, mounting-specific fill and any cooling requirement.Mechanical fit and nominal motor power are evaluated alongside continuous running conditions.

Qualify the company and the proposed gearbox separately

Use the linked manufacturer profiles to inspect company identity and the source trail. Then ask the quoting party to connect that identity to the order: legal name, manufacturing location, full model code, drawing revision and responsibility for assembly and inspection.

  1. Identify who will supply it. Reconcile the website, quotation and contract entity. A brand name alone does not identify the manufacturing site.
  2. Review evidence for this assembly. Request the rating sheet, approved drawing and agreed inspection points. For backlash, noise or load testing, specify the test conditions and acceptance limits.
  3. Agree what arrives with the order. Confirm model/serial traceability, inspection records, lubricant instructions and service documents. Review any certificate for its holder, scope and validity; a general certificate is not an order-specific performance test.

A useful first enquiry has a load cycle and a drawing

Worked RFQ example — illustrative inputs, not a recommended model. A conveyor needs 60 rpm output from a 1,440 rpm input: the target reduction is 24:1. The supplier must confirm an available ratio and resulting speed; neither an exact 24:1 model nor a torque rating follows from that calculation.

Application: conveyor. Input: 1,440 rpm. Target output: 60 rpm. Running torque: [Nm]. Starting/jam load and duration: [Nm / seconds]. Duty: [hours/day, starts/hour]. Ambient: [°C]. Mounting orientation: [drawing]. Output shaft or bore, flange, external forces and overhang: [drawing/data]. Please propose a complete model code and ratio, operating-point rating, thermal assessment, lubricant specification and approval drawing. If positioning matters, state the backlash requirement and measurement method.

Tunsing TransmissionShaoxing, Zhejiang, ChinaHelical · Bevel

Tunsing Transmission, the brand shown by Zhejiang Gear Reducer Motor, publishes reducer families with official illustrated selection tables. Its R series is an inline helical drive, while the K series changes direction through helical-bevel gearing. Both pages show installation arrangements, frame sizes, ratio ranges, motor power and permissible torque by model. The examples below use the R37 and K37 columns so that a buyer sees a coherent frame-level selection rather than disconnected series maxima. The company also lists motors and other reducer architectures. The official tables are source material for preliminary screening; final shaft, mounting and duty selection requires a current drawing and quotation.

Feluoka Heavy Industry TransmissionLu’an, Anhui, ChinaHelical · Bevel

Anhui Feluoka Heavy Industry Transmission publishes modular geared-motor families for industrial drive installations. Its K series combines helical and bevel gearing to turn the output axis, while its R series is an inline helical arrangement. Separate official pages state each family’s ratio, rated-output-torque and motor-power envelopes, and enumerate available output and motor interfaces. Buyers can compare the arrangements as a starting point but should request a model-level selection sheet at the intended input speed, duty cycle and mounting orientation. The site also shows frame-by-frame torque charts rather than a single universal rating.

JIAOXINGTaizhou, Zhejiang, ChinaWorm · Bevel

Taizhou Jiaoxing Transmission Equipment publishes precision duplex worm reducers and helical-hypoid drives. The JDLB family offers an adjustable worm mesh for applications where backlash control matters, while JHG combines a hypoid first stage with further gearing for a different efficiency and installation trade-off. Official pages provide frame selections, ratio information and mechanical interface notes. This profile uses the public technical descriptions and imagery; restricted downloads have not been treated as verified source data. Ask for the exact model’s torque-speed rating and mounting drawing, particularly where a low-backlash unit is being selected for a rotary positioning axis.

TONGLIWenzhou, Zhejiang, ChinaHelical · Bevel

Zhejiang Tongli Transmission Technology supplies industrial reduction gear units and geared drives. Its TR hardened-tooth helical family and TK spiral-bevel family provide two distinct drive layouts: inline transmission and right-angle transmission. Official product pages publish frame envelopes, reduction ratios, output-speed ranges and input-power ranges. These values cover multiple sizes and motor combinations, so their endpoints must not be combined into an assumed configuration. The catalog identifies metallurgy, mining, conveying, chemicals and mixing as application areas. Buyers can use the documented series to shortlist a drive architecture, then obtain a frame-specific drawing, mechanical rating and thermal check from TONGLI.

TANHONRuian, Zhejiang, ChinaHelical · Bevel · Worm · Planetary

TANHON is the gearbox brand of Zhejiang Tianhong Transmission Machinery in Ruian. Its catalog covers helical geared drives, heavy-duty industrial gearboxes and other reduction products. The MTH heavy-duty helical range offers multiple shaft and installation arrangements for conveying, mining, cement and steel-industry machinery.

EVERGEARWenzhou, Zhejiang, ChinaHelical · Bevel · Worm · Planetary

Zhejiang Evergear Drive manufactures geared motors and industrial reducers in Pingyang, Wenzhou. The range includes ER, EK, EF, ES, EH/EB and EQ families. ER helical reducers are offered in foot- and flange-mounted arrangements. This profile uses the current Chinese product page for its ER speed and power envelope; individual model ratings require selection.

TONGLI TK Spiral Bevel Gear Reducers

TONGLI

TK Spiral Bevel Gear Reducers

TK combines helical gearing with a spiral-bevel stage to turn power through a right angle. The manufacturer identifies Gleason spiral-bevel gearing and positions the family for installations where drive layout or height limits make an inline unit unsuitable. Published ratios extend from 5.36 to 197.37 across TK38–TK188. Its 50,000 Nm torque ceiling describes the series envelope. Check the shaft arrangement, output connection and mounting orientation as well as the selected ratio. A combined reduction arrangement needs its own manufacturer selection rather than a multiplication of unrelated catalog limits.
