Make the replacement fit the machine.
Right-angle worm reduction and inline helical transmission solve different layout problems. WUMA's WMRV and WR families offer several mounting routes, with custom shafts, flanges and housings available. Bring the installed drawing and duty together before choosing a frame or requesting an equivalent.
Two named official families
Choose the layout before the ratio.
Check input/output axis direction, available envelope, motor position and service access. WMRV and WR are different architectures; a similar output speed does not establish identical thermal behavior, load capacity or installation.

WMRV · right-angle worm route
The official page describes aluminium and cast-iron housing options, IEC or custom motor flanges and configurable installation dimensions. Confirm the actual frame's housing, output shaft/bore, mounting arrangement and sealing.
- Listed frames
- 25 / 30 / 40 / 50 / 63 / 75 / 90 / 110 / 130 / 150 / 185
- Listed ratios
- 7.5 / 10 / 15 / 20 / 25 / 30 / 40 / 50 / 60 / 80 / 100
These are family lists. Ask for the selected frame/ratio/input-speed rating and permitted load rather than assuming every combination is supplied or shares the same capacity.

WR · inline helical route
The WR page describes two- and three-stage transmission and foot, shaft and flange mounting routes, including large/small flanges. It lists HT250 cast iron as the housing material and a supplier-published efficiency range of 94–98%.
- Listed frames
- 17 / 27 / 37 / 47 / 57 / 67 / 77 / 87 / 97 / 107 / 137 / 147 / 167

- MR inline helical family
The page describes MR as matching WR dimensions. Verify the selected complete assembly drawing and rating; a family-level dimensional statement does not make every WR/MR configuration interchangeable.

Send the current nameplate and installed assembly drawing. Mark the interfaces below on a sketch or dimensioned photographs, then ask WUMA to return a selected drawing for approval.
Motor and adapter
Motor code, flange pilot and bolt circle, shaft diameter/length/key, adapter depth, coupling and connector position. Name whether the quotation includes the motor or reducer alone.
Shaft or bore
Shaft/bore diameter and tolerance, key or clamping arrangement, length, driven hub and axial retention. Show belt, chain or gear loads and their overhang from the supporting bearing.
Feet, flange or torque reaction
Mounting-hole coordinates, locating faces, shaft height and support stiffness. For a shaft-mounted arrangement, show the torque-reaction connection and available assembly/removal access.
Orientation and service
Input/output direction, motor envelope, guards, surrounding equipment and lubricant/seal service access. Record the installation orientation and ambient/process conditions.
Approve the replacement by the complete assembly and operating specification. A familiar family name, nominal ratio or motor power is not an interchangeability check.
Mechanical fit is the first check
Continuous running, external loads and environment decide the rest.
WUMA names conveying, packaging, ceramics, stone, environmental and other industrial machinery. Convert the machine application into a measurable drive duty.
Conveyor or continuous process
Provide working torque/speed, starts, jams, run time and ambient temperature. Request the selected configuration's mechanical and thermal rating, lubricant quantity/type, mounting position and any cooling requirements.
Belt, chain or gear transmission
Specify radial/axial force, its direction and distance from the output support. Agree the permissible loads and life for that geometry. Do not infer them from output torque alone.
Wet, dusty or chemically exposed equipment
Describe washdown, dust, process chemicals and temperature. Agree seal material, shaft finish, corrosion protection, lubricant and any enclosure requirements. A colour or general housing material does not establish suitability for that environment.
Holding or reversible load
Identify back-driving, holding and safe stopping needs. Do not rely on a generic worm-drive description as a safety holding function. Specify the complete machine control/brake requirement and obtain a configuration-specific response.
Separate dimensional customization from a new drive design.
WUMA's official OEM/ODM service page lists shaft/bore length, diameter and shape; input/output flanges; ratio; housing colour/material; nameplate; packaging; and complete gearbox customization.
| Requested change | Information to send | What to agree before production |
|---|---|---|
| Shaft, bore or flange | Mating-part drawing, fit/tolerance, fastening and loads | Approved interface drawing, inspection dimensions and assembly procedure |
| Ratio or complete unit | Torque/speed cycle, input motor, envelope and environment | Selected rating, load/thermal calculation, model code and validation scope |
| Housing or seals | Material/coating request, corrosion/washdown/process exposure | Material/seal specification, service conditions and inspection records |
| Nameplate or packaging | Required identification, language, shipping and storage conditions | Correct rating/model marking, traceability and packing specification |
Record the revision, minimum/order quantity, tooling responsibility, sample approval and lead-time assumptions in the supplier's proposal. Cosmetic changes should not obscure the selected configuration's identity or ratings.
Match the WUMA brand to the supplying entity.

The current official introduction and website footer identify Zhejiang Wuma Transmission (浙江午马传动有限公司). The site's history traces the business to 1995 and describes earlier Wuma reducer operations before the current manufacturing development.
The National Public Service Platform for Standards Information names 浙江午马传动有限公司 among the drafting organisations for GB/Z 115-2025, “Gears — Calculation of load capacity of worm gears.” This supports the named entity's technical participation; it does not certify a selected WMRV unit or its order-specific rating.
Use the quotation, contract, invoice and inspection documents to identify the actual supplying/manufacturing entity, production location, model and drawing revision. Keep the WUMA brand, earlier company names and current supplier responsibilities distinct when purchasing or qualifying a source.
Bring the installed drive and the working cycle.
A clear replacement or OEM brief lets WUMA identify the suitable frame, interfaces and supply scope.
Save WUMA to include it in your request.- Machine/application, quantity, destination and current drive nameplate.
