TONGYU
Select the output connection, then the ratio and duty.

Zhejiang Tongyu Variable-Speed Machinery combines precision planetary drives with a broader range of worm, helical and hypoid geared motors. TAB and TAD have different published size counts and ratio selections. Their official illustrations also show different output interfaces—a shaft on TAB and a face flange on TAD—so begin with how your machine transfers torque and supports its load.

Start at the driven machine

A shaft-connected axis and a flange-connected axis need different drawings.

Official TAB product illustration.

TAB · shaft-output illustration

The website shows a solid output shaft and square mounting face. Specify the shaft diameter, usable length, key/clamping connection, pilot and bolt pattern of the ordered size.

For a pulley or pinion, provide the applied forces and their distance from the support. For a coupling, provide alignment, overhang and stiffness requirements. Ask for the exact bearing-load and life calculation.

Official TAD product illustration.

TAD · flange-output illustration

The website shows a circular output face with a bolt pattern. Send the driven assembly's mating flange, pilot, bolt pattern, clearance and required reference position.

Identify how the table, arm or other driven assembly is supported. Ask for the permissible axial/radial loads and overturning moment, mounting procedure and inspection datums for the selected assembly.

Available ratios differ between the two families.

Use the website's discrete choices, rather than treating the interval between the smallest and largest ratios as continuously available.

Ask for the frame-specific torque and precision data.

Both pages publish a series maximum rated output torque of 2,000 Nm. They do not identify a frame-by-ratio rating matrix on those pages. Specify the selected frame, ratio, stage count and operating speed, and request its rated/peak torque, backlash, stiffness, inertia and bearing-load data.

The supplier describes helical alloy-steel gears, surface hardening and precision grinding. Obtain the ordered model's material and process requirements and inspection results; those general descriptions do not establish a particular hardness, case depth or backlash grade.

Define the complete axis

Use the motion cycle to test whether the selected combination fits.

Ratio determines a nominal speed relationship. It does not resolve torque peaks, reflected inertia, external loads or system accuracy.

Motor and gearing

Send the motor model, shaft/flange drawing, input-speed range and drive/controller. Ask the supplier to identify the actual ratio and motor adapter for the ordered configuration.

Acceleration and stopping

Provide motion versus time, driven inertia, steady load, starts, reversals and emergency stopping. Separate continuous operation, repeated peaks and exceptional events in the duty calculation.

Accuracy at the machine

Define positioning or repeatability at the driven point, measurement conditions, backlash and stiffness requirements. Include coupling, support, structural and control contributions rather than assigning the gearbox the entire error budget.

Loads and installation

Provide the shaft/flange force diagram, reference distances, mounting orientation, environment and thermal cycle. Agree bearing life, lubrication, permitted loads and fastening/alignment requirements.

Inspection at delivery

Approved configuration/drawing, torque and speed conditions, backlash method, agreed process records, serial identification and operating instructions. Define which tests apply to the gearbox and which apply to the assembled axis.

Some machines need a different route within Tongyu's range.

The official company page also names worm, helical, parallel-shaft, helical-bevel and helical-hypoid families, plus variable-speed drives. Match the architecture to the machine before choosing precision planetary by default.

Conveying or assembly lines

Ask about TR/TRC helical, TF parallel-shaft or TK helical-bevel arrangements when installation layout, supported loads and continuous running dominate. Supply the roller/pulley geometry and complete load cycle.

Compact right-angle layouts

The company lists TWM/TNRV/VF worm and TKM/TKB/WKM helical-hypoid families. Compare the selected ratio, efficiency, heat rejection and holding/protection requirements for the actual application.

Speed adjustment

UDL variable-speed drives appear in the company's range. State the operating-speed band, how speed is changed, required torque through that band and control/maintenance scope before selecting the assembly.

Understand the manufacturing boundary for your order.

The official introduction dates the Taizhou business to 1992 and describes transmission development, manufacture, sales and after-sales service. Its contact page uses the older Taizhou Tongyu sales-department name; the company page and footer use Zhejiang Tongyu Variable-Speed Machinery. Confirm the contracting entity on the quotation.

Historical site and process reference

A January 2021 environmental report hosted by the local government identifies Tongyu at 318 Juxiang Road. It describes machining, shot-blasting and assembly lines and a technical-upgrade plan covering casting, heat treatment, finishing and motor production.

Ask what is supplied today

The same report distinguishes then-existing processes from planned additions and work outsourced at that time. Use it as dated manufacturing context. Obtain current site/process scope, subcontracting controls and traceability for the selected order.

For planetary gears, agree steel grade, hardening/grinding requirements and dimensional/mesh inspection. For the full reducer, specify assembly, backlash and operating tests. A historical production plan is not a delivered-model inspection record.

Send the mating drawing and motion profile.

Give Tongyu a selected-axis problem to resolve.
