Leaderdrive: distinguish the input coupling and the torque limit

Leaderdrive's LCS and higher-torque LCSG cup-shaped strain-wave units are candidates for compact precision axes. The official range page makes two distinctions particularly useful to buyers: how the input shaft connects to the wave generator, and which load condition a torque figure describes.

LCS-I and LCS-II differ at the wave-generator connection

The official LCS(G) description identifies these connections. Ask for the interface drawing for the actual variant instead of ordering only a frame number.

A different coupling arrangement changes the assembly drawing. It does not make a reducer insensitive to mounting error.

LCS14 at ratio 50: keep the load definitions visible

One row in the official LCS table is enough to show why the largest number is not the working rating.

LCSG has its own performance table. Do not calculate a quote by applying a marketing percentage to an LCS row.

A small reducer can still carry a complicated load case

For a robot wrist or rotary positioning axis, draw the load path from the tool or workpiece to the output flange. An offset mass creates an overturning moment as well as drive torque. Send payload, center-of-gravity distance, orientation and acceleration history so the supplier can check the output support and reducer together.

For a reversing axis, agree how the acceptance measurement will be made: load, temperature, measurement point and approach direction. Backlash, hysteresis loss, angular transmission error and torsional rigidity describe different behavior. The official page publishes separate rows for these quantities; one angular headline cannot replace the machine's error budget.

Request the matched housing and output drawings, wave-generator input variant, lubrication instructions and tightening sequence before finalizing the surrounding structure. Identify whether the order is the complete reducer unit or a component supply, and list the bearings, coupling and seals included. That boundary determines what your machine builder must design and assemble.
