JIE: a WP replacement needs the shaft arrangement as well as the ratio

JIE's WP worm-drive page presents WPA, WPS, WPO, WPX and WPW arrangements. They share published family ranges, but their arrangement drawings remain separate. For a packaging line or other compact machine, choosing the correct input and output geometry is the first step toward a usable replacement.

The WP overview describes a range, not one interchangeable unit

The official WP page lists the same family envelopes against several arrangements. The values below must be resolved to the selected size and ratio.

For an installed machine, photograph and measure the connection

Output connection

Record shaft direction, diameter, keyway, usable length and the connection to the driven mechanism. Include pulley or sprocket diameter and overhang. A fitting shaft does not by itself establish the allowable bearing load.

Mounting envelope

Provide foot-hole or flange dimensions, shaft center height and service clearances. Include adjacent guards and motor access in the survey. Ask for the exact WP arrangement drawing before changing the base or coupling.

Actual operating duty

State the machine's running hours, input speed range, reversals and loaded starts. For a compact worm-drive installation, include ambient temperature and ventilation so the supplier can check thermal behavior at the operating point.

Use the product family names to define the quotation boundary

JIE's navigation separately lists JRT geared motors, JRH industrial gearboxes, JRP planetary units and JRST/WP worm drives. If a replacement proposal changes architecture, request a comparison at the same machine output speed and load, together with the proposed arrangement drawing. A different series may require a different mounting solution even when its ratio is familiar.

The WP page also contains modular interface descriptions under JRW wording. Keep those descriptions distinct from the WPA/WPS/WPO/WPX/WPW rows. An IEC, NEMA, servo or hollow-shaft option mentioned in adjacent text should be confirmed for the exact assembly in the order; it is not automatically included with every WP unit.

For a lifting or load-holding machine, specify the brake and protective system separately. Do not assume a worm reducer provides a dependable safety brake merely because backdriving resistance may be high. Ask for the complete machine duty review and applicable stopping or holding requirements.

Prepare sourcing request

Save this manufacturer first to include it in your sourcing request.

Installed model and nameplate, shaft-layout photographs and the machine's function.
Foot/flange dimensions, shaft center height, shaft/key fits and available mounting envelope.
Ratio and input/output speeds, continuous load, reversals, loaded starts and external shaft forces.
Motor and adapter scope, ventilation, ambient temperature, lubrication orientation and access.
Quantity and a request for the full WP arrangement code, rating basis, assembly drawing and included accessories.
