For an existing machine

“Interchangeable” becomes useful on a drawing.

The industrial range describes compatibility with mainstream installation dimensions. For an actual replacement, compare the selected units and surrounding equipment before committing to fabrication.

Foundation and shaft arrangement

Supply the existing center height, bolt pattern, shaft centerlines and motor position. Identify parallel or right-angle transmission and the required direction of rotation. Include foundation condition and lifting access for the replacement.

Connection and external loads

Dimension shaft diameters, fits, keys/splines, engagement lengths and coupling hubs. Show the pulley, gear or driven-shaft location so the supplier can check external forces and moments rather than only torque.

Heat and lubrication

List input power, speed, operating hours, ambient temperature and nearby heat sources. Identify the required lubrication circuit, cooling-water or air provisions, oil grade and monitoring instruments.

Shutdown and maintenance access

Mark space for oil filling/draining, filters, inspection covers and coupling removal. Agree whether the quote includes baseplates, guards, instrumentation, commissioning assistance and an initial spares package.

Turn the published construction into an acceptance schedule.

The planetary page describes heat-treated alloy-steel gearing: carburized/hardened external gears, tempered and nitrided internal rings, and ductile-iron or quality-steel housings. These are descriptions of the published range; specify the selected unit's materials and records.

The high-speed page's headline capacity and efficiency refer to the range, without one selected operating point. Obtain the proposal's power, speed, thermal basis and test conditions before using them for a machine design. A listed design standard is not a certification badge.

Write the service boundary before the shutdown.

The official service page includes development, manufacture, installation/commissioning guidance, maintenance training, spare parts and upgrades to older products. It also says input/output connection dimensions can be customized. These are useful starting points for a retrofit or a non-standard drive enquiry.

Make the commercial scope precise: who measures the old machine, who approves the mounting and coupling drawings, who supplies the oil system and who performs alignment on site. Define the permitted shutdown window, acceptance responsibility and the documents needed for future maintenance.

For overseas equipment, agree remote-diagnosis information, on-site support arrangements and the parts list before installation. Record serial identifiers and the approved as-built drawings with the machine. A maintenance plan is useful when it tells the operator what can be inspected and replaced within the available access space.
