Industrial worm drives & photovoltaic tracking

FIXEDSTAR / Hangzhou Zhongde
Match the drive to the equipment and the supplying entity.

The FIXEDSTAR group catalogue covers conventional industrial transmission and solar-tracking drives. FCNDK-B5 provides several motor, shaft and mounting arrangements; FD08M addresses a photovoltaic multi-drive system. They call for different drawings, operating conditions and acceptance checks.

Conventional industrial transmission

FCNDK-B5: choose the input and output arrangement together.

The official FCNDK-B5 page describes an aluminium-alloy worm-reducer route with shaft and hollow-shaft options. Its published ranges are 5–100 single-stage ratio, 100–5,000 double-stage ratio and 0.06–15 kW input power.

These are family ranges, not a statement that one frame delivers every listed combination. Request a model-specific torque/power rating at the selected ratio, input speed, mounting orientation and duty. A high total ratio or motor power alone does not establish thermal capacity.

For a conveyor, packaging machine or other continuous process, include working torque, starts, jams, daily operating time, ambient temperature and external shaft loads. Ask for the selected mechanical and thermal checks, lubrication specification and service access.

Use the listed options to build a complete installation code.

FCNDK's mounting options make it adaptable, but the quotation needs one defined assembly. Mark these interfaces on the existing or proposed machine drawing.

Output reaction and external loads

Show belt/chain/gear forces, their directions and overhang from the bearing. For shaft mounting, agree torque reaction and support. Ask for permissible loads at the selected speed and life rather than deriving them from torque alone.

Holding and safe stopping

If gravity or another load can back-drive the machine, specify the brake/control requirement separately. Do not assume that the word “worm” establishes a safe holding function for every ratio, lubricant or operating condition.

A separate load path

FD08M: tracking movement and wind-load holding are separate duties.

The official page describes FD-M drives for photovoltaic flat single-axis tracking with multiple linked units. It states support for 2P installation and up to 120 modules; the actual system layout and load calculation must define the scope of that statement.

Conditions and published characteristics

The FD08M page lists −35 to 65°C ambient temperature, C3-H corrosion protection, IP65 protection, ±60° mechanical travel and ≤0.2° tracking accuracy. These are supplier-published product characteristics; agree the applicable test/specification and installation boundary for the order.

Prepare the complete tracker geometry

Provide module dimensions/mass, row length, axis height, support spacing, linked drive positions, torque-tube geometry and foundation assumptions. Include tracking speed, reversals, stow strategy, wind-load cases and any uneven terrain/alignment conditions.

Do not substitute holding torque for drive torque

The 28.5 kNm holding value is distinct from 3.5 kNm output torque. Ask how loads are distributed between linked drives, what operating/holding conditions apply, and how the complete tracker reaches and retains its required position.

Agree the performance boundary

Identify motor, controller, position feedback, wiring, sealing, lubrication and maintenance scope. Request the selected drive and system calculations plus the agreed tracking/backlash, sealing and coating acceptance methods. A module-count headline does not establish a site's wind or structural rating.

Qualify the actual supplier

The group catalogue and the factory entity are related, but not identical.

The FIXEDSTAR group introduction names Hangzhou Zhongde Transmission Equipment alongside other manufacturing and trading entities. It traces the group's predecessor to the Hangzhou reducer business founded in 1976.

Record who manufactures and who contracts

For FCNDK or a solar-tracking drive, identify the legal supplier, production location, brand/model, included components and service responsibility. Do not assign the group's historical start date, annual capacity or export figures to Zhongde alone without an entity-specific record.

Independent standards participation

The national standards information platform names 杭州中德传动设备有限公司 among the drafting organisations for JB/T 15305-2025, the square RV-series worm-reducer standard. This confirms participation by that named company; it does not certify an individual FCNDK unit or the FD08M solar assembly.

Different meanings of “RV”

Here, the standard's RV refers to a square worm-reducer family. Do not confuse it with precision cycloidal RV reducers used in robot joints, or transfer the accuracy and load ratings of one architecture to the other.

Documents for release to production

Agree selected model ratings, drawing revision, materials/coating where applicable, inspection method and serial/lot identification. For multiple linked solar drives, include the system configuration and load cases on the approved documents.

Choose the enquiry route first.

Send the industrial-drive assembly or photovoltaic-tracker geometry, together with the required supply scope.
