Industrial planetary drivesDONLY DLP: specify the load path, not just the reduction ratio
DONLY's DLP planetary range is presented for mixers, roller presses, crushers, hoists and other industrial drives. Its shaft and installation choices make the mechanical interface central to the selection. This profile explains what the official technical table establishes and what belongs in a frame-specific quotation.
What DONLY publishes for DLP
The DLP product table describes a range of assemblies. The numbers below keep its original scope rather than turning the largest values into a single configuration.
| Published item | Manufacturer entry | Meaning for selection |
|---|---|---|
| Size designation | 3–29 | Choose the complete size and construction code. |
| Reduction ratio | 25–4,000 | A range across multiple arrangements; use a matching frame table. |
| Permitted torque | Maximum up to 2,600 kN·m | A series maximum, not the continuous rating of every ratio. |
| Input speed | 0–1,800 rpm | Supply the actual motor speed and operating cycle. |
| Mounting and output | Horizontal / vertical; hollow, solid or spline | Fix the mounting orientation and output connection in the drawing. |
The page also names HT250 for the housing, 20CrMnTi for gears and L-CKC320 lubricant. These are published specifications. Require the applicable material and lubrication documents for the selected unit.
A mixer and a hoist ask different questions of the same range
Mixing and process machinery
If the output shaft also carries an impeller or other external load, describe radial force, axial thrust and bending moment at their actual application points. Ask whether the machine provides separate shaft support. A torque-only selection does not check these bearing loads.
Roller press or crusher
Send the load spectrum, overload events and the connection to the driven shaft. Agree the permissible peak duration and the protective system. A stall, repeated shock and ordinary continuous load need separate limits in the selection response.
Hoisting drive
Define the drum geometry, load, operating speeds and stopping duty. Identify the brake, load-holding method and required protective devices. The DLP series description does not by itself approve a complete lifting installation.
Make the interface and cooling package part of the supplied assembly
DONLY describes modular major components, alternative sealing arrangements and cooling provisions on its DLP page. For procurement, convert those choices into a bill of supply: identify the shaft variant, mounting orientation, seals, cooling arrangement and oil system in the quotation. An accessory shown in a catalog illustration may not be included in a gearbox-only price.
A solid shaft, hollow shaft and spline have different attachment details. Ask for the tolerances, engagement length, coupling or locking component and the installation procedure. For a vertical arrangement, request the corresponding lubrication plan rather than using the drawing or oil quantity from a horizontal version.
The useful comparison between two quotations is the same output speed and load cycle, the same shaft interface and the same cooling scope. Then compare dimensional fit, rated load and service access. Ask the supplier to return its selection calculation and outline drawing together, with a revision identifier you can reference on the purchase order.
Open the documented DLP range
The product record retains the original range image and source table. Use it to start a configuration discussion.
Send the operating cycle and shaft drawing
Give DONLY enough detail to calculate the assembly rather than select from the series headline.
Save this manufacturer first to include it in your sourcing request.- Machine type, output speed and operating hours
- Continuous load, shock/peak load, duration and overload protection
- Radial/axial loads, bending moment and separate shaft supports
- Solid, hollow or spline output; horizontal or vertical installation
- Motor interface, ambient temperature, cooling, oil system and documents to supply
